Curious Facts About the Film
The
original title, The Imitation Game, refers to the “imitation game” proposed by
Turing in his 1950 article on the question “Can machines think?”. In the film,
Turing calls his machine “Christopher” in honor of a love from his youth, but
in reality the device he built was called the “Bombe”.
As a
curious detail, a cryptography professor discovered an original Enigma machine
for sale at a flea market and bought it for USD 114, later reselling it for
more than $50,000.
